Bruce Levitt was already famous by the time I first met him… he’s the lawyer that won the Kemp v. Countrywide case a few years back.  Kemp was one of the earliest big wins in the foreclosure defense wars… remember the name Linda DiMartini?  Of course you do.

Well, when he’s not in court litigating or handling a bankruptcy, he’s in his office counseling someone on their options for avoiding foreclosure, so you can call his firm when you need help getting your loan modified or negotiating a short sale too.

I’ve spent a lot of time talking to a lot of lawyers, as you might imagine… and Bruce and I have spent many hours on the phone… and I can tell you that I honestly believe that it’s actually possible that he might have been born an exceptionally smart lawyer.  Like, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that in 3rd grade he raised his had and told his teacher that she lacked foundation.

Okay, I’m kidding… sort of… he’s just a really smart lawyer.  He’s one of the lawyers I call when I need someone to explain some arcane legal nuance that I don’t understand in the least.  He’s exceptionally good at explaining legalese in good old American English.  I’ve known him for several years now, and he’s never once answered a question I asked him in Latin.  And I know homeowners will appreciate that.

Bruce is a bankruptcy lawyer, a litigator and a pragmatist… he’s just a natural problem solver for regular people.  I think it’s because he’s very good at asking the right questions, that he always gets to the right answers.

If I were a homeowner in New Jersey at risk of foreclosure, I wouldn’t even think about calling anyone but Bruce, and I’m quite serious about that.  If for some reason he hadn’t agreed to be my “trusted attorney” for the State of New Jersey, I wouldn’t have a trusted attorney for the State of New Jersey.

By the way, his wife is a lawyer as well, but her education and background is in social work, which makes them seem like a couple with the ideal skill set for helping fix what’s ailing in New Jersey.  Call them… either one will be fine.

No matter what you say to Bruce about your situation, his answer always reminds you that the banks have done a lot worse.  And since I already know how your call with Bruce or his wife will go…

So, your welcome.
