CALLING ALL LOAN MOD FIRMS: A Family in LA Needs Help NOW!
CBS just reported that the Arteaga family of Winnetka has been left homeless as a result of being scammed by someone who said he could get their loan modified.
THEY NEED YOUR HELP TODAY! DO IT NOW!
The family gave the con man their life savings of $12,000 back in August of 2008 to get the process started, and the family hasn’t heard from him since. Their home was foreclosed on and now they’ve been evicted. They have young children and have been living on the street… sleeping outside… just steps from their foreclosed home. Dear God.
This family needs help now… like today. And those in the legitimate loan modification industry are in the best position to help them. Not only can everyone help financially, but someone needs to step up and help them with their bank, if possible. Something has to be done about this, and the industry needs to step up and show that it does care… NOW! TODAY!
I spoke with Maggie Carnot, the Operations Supervisor at California Finance Group this morning. She is helping the family in every way she can, and getting the District Attorney involved on Monday, but as we all know the DA can’t turn back the clock.
Maggie and the California Finance Group has set up a fund at Bank of America… Account #0162567380. You can wire funds or you can write a check and deposit it to that account. PLEASE DO IT TODAY… RIGHT NOW!
On Monday, CBS will be reporting how things are going for this family who was thrown into this tragic situation… and I really want to hear them say that the legitimate loan modification professionals of this country stepped up to help.
I realize we won’t be able to help everyone. But we can help this family. And we very much should… and NOW!

Please have them contact me today at the office. I will be here for another 2 hours. We help people all the time that have been scammed.
Thanks,
Shane
Shane, are you kidding me, are you that much of a narcissist? These poor people have already lost their home, there's no loan left to be modified. Be kind and just give them some money anonymously. Please don't make these poor people call you and beg you for some cash for a hotel room. Have some compassion for God's sake!
Maybe you've never been a situation as challenging as the one the Arteaga's are facing, but from someone who has, let me tell you, for people who are inherently humble and proud, the more bleak the circumstances, the harder it is for them to ask for money. Insisting that these people call you and beg for a handout is beyond cruel.
The only valid reason for them to call you is if you are offering to let them stay at your place and you want to give them your address without having to publish it online. The BofA account information is right in the article. Let us know when you have made a meaningful DONATION or have the Arteaga's comfortably situated at your place. Otherwise, do the world a favor and kill yourself.
Well Steve P,
I am a little shocked by your reply.
First and foremost, we are NOT a loan modification company! We help people get the legal leverage that they need to save OR get their home back. Just because they have lost their DOESN'T mean we can't help them (most cases we can). We have HELPED a number of clients that have ALREADY foreclosured. Next time you want to jump to conclusions please do your research first. If you want to see the FEDERAL court cases that we have filed then please feel more than welcome to check it out here.

Once again, if anybody want to contact me and get me in contact with the Arteaga family I would love to see what we can do to help.....For FREE. Pro-Bono! Just because there are people out there that take advantage of people, doesn't mean that there are not nice, compassionate people that want to help. Please don't get me or my companies confused with a scam or con artists.
Thank you! :-)

When I lay my head down on that concrete sidewalk of a pillow, that's what I'm dreaming of, legal leverage, such sweet dreams. Silly me! Who needs crazy luxuries like food, shelter, and running water when you got Shane's "legal leverage" instead?
I'm sorry for suggesting you should kill yourself. By chance were you ever dropped on your head when you were a baby?
SteveP....
You seem like you really got screwed in the past and I wish you hadn't fallen victim to somebodies scam. I see that you are very bitter towards anybody that is willing to help other people. I am hoping by reading and answering questions on these forums it will help alleviate some of your anger. Have a great rest of the weekend.

...and I would be glad to help.
As a point of information, there are several things that can be done--even after a foreclosure. You'd be surprised what a lender is willing to do after being caught participating in loan with violations of federal and state laws.
And Shane, yes, I feel your pain. Why? Because I was losing MY home--and I'm a single mom with a 3 year old. I researched and dug and learned how to audit my loan. I stopped the foreclosure (actually they cancelled it) and now every once in a while they send me pathetic mortgage statements which I open, laugh and stick in a file.
The loan was so riddled with violations that THEY would owe ME money. I even had the president of the foreclosing/servicing company get on the phone and scream and yell at me. Yet, I'm still here.
Auditing is the FIRST thing anyone should do when choosing to battle your lender. You need ammunition--and this will give it to you.
If you're interested in learning more, I'd be happy to answer any questions through this thread.

I would be more than happy to help any way i can. I am willing to do a pro bono loan mod and try to work with b of a.
my number is 909-241-2818 and office number is 702 834 7500
You are the first Deposit Modification firm I have come across. BofA is the institution where the charity assistance account was opened. Are you planning on trying to "work with BofA" to modify the charity assistance account? Pro bono, you are going to strong ARM the largest bank in the US to pay 2.25% in lieu of 2% interest on the charitable deposits? One twelth of one quarter of a percent may even mean an extra can of beans every month. Wow, what a meaningful contribution you are offering!
Based on how sloppy you are at ascertaining the details, you are the type that would do more harm than good for homeowners.
Is there anybody, anybody at all, in the loan mod business with an IQ over 100?
If its a Bank of America loan, I can probably get in contact with the asset manager to at least get them back into the house. I would be willing to provide the keys to the property if the locks have been previously changed.
Martin, you know my number.
What a bunch of cretins! God help us all!
I'm not sure if any of the bloggers have been dropped on their heads but it is quite clear Steve that yours has hit the concrete more than once. We can all certainly contribute funds to help these folks in the short term but it seem we have some very talented people willing to do what ever they can to help them get their home back. In stead of welcoming and possibly coordinating any help that might be of assistance to them you choose to give your money and rail against those who are offering more than a fish for today. Maybe you could be so kind as to help everyone who wants to help get in touch with these folks do so and let them decide who they would like to accept help from.. BTW, humility is an attitude worth persuing and pride always preceeds a great fall.
SteveP,
You are an ignoramus! It's obvious you have bought into the propaganda the government has spewed, hook, line and sinker. How you can admonish someone that is willing to help these people pro bono is beyond my comprehension.
I'm certain there is high paying government job in your future. They're always looking for big thinking problem solvers. I've got it! You could head up the Hope-4-Homeowners federal program that helped ONE person. Man up, SteveP.
You are THE MAN SteveP.
And yes, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Does anybody know if the Arteaga's have a place to sleep tonight? Any word on the charity donations, is there enough yet for this family to get into an apartment? If not, how short are they? Although I'm now on the opposite coast, I used to live in the SF Valley. Winnetka is a pretty pricey area but nearby Conoga Park & Reseda both have numerous affordable apartments. Anybody there local in the SFV kow of any 2 or 3 bedroom apartments that are offering a cheap move-in special?
I transferred money to their account and so did others... I'd like to think we could at least make a dent in the $12,000 they got scammed out of... come on... $100? Whose with me?
And SERIOUSLY, let me know if you're a loan modification company or individual making a donation, because I'll get that information to CBS who is covering the story and they'll be able to say that the legit loan modification companies stepped up.
Here's your moment... take it. Show CBS, the family and all of California that there are loan modification people that care about people and their industry's reputation.
Martin, you know my number.
kegman83... Get in touch with me... I'm probably an idiot, but I don't know your number... sorry... but get in touch and tell me what I'm not thinking of...
Martin....I know you are an American Idol.....but seriously.....there is a good chance that we can help this family. Please give me 5 minutes and let's see if we can give this horror story a happy ending. We truly want to help!! I tried to contact the reporter and I haven't received a call back yet.
Thanks,
Shane Barker
