CORVUS LAW GROUP

I’ve known Zach Roberts for about two years now, he previously was one of the partners/owners of the Paladin Legal Center, which was a multi-state law firm that focused on helping homeowners avoid foreclosure through mortgages modifications, short sales and litigation. Zach has become an outspoken advocate of homeowner rights, and from the beginning, he’s been one of the attorneys I’ve relied on to help me understand the laws governing foreclosures and the basis upon which those at risk of foreclosure can fight to keep their homes.

Zach is a frequent speaker on topics including mortgage fraud, loan workout techniques, short sales, real estate syndications, and continuing education programs for attorneys and tax advisors and homeowners. Zach received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego after earning his undergraduate degree at the University of California.

Ryan West is Zach’s partner at Corvus Law. Ryan is licensed to practice law in both Utah and Nevada, and has significant experience representing homeowners in litigation against large financial institutions. He earned his law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, and began his career representing some of the nation’s largest home builders, including Pulte Homes, Lennar, and US Home where he was involved in some extremely complex construction defect litigation. He went on to represent real estate investors, developers and bond issuers, and for years specialized in securities related litigation, both criminal and civil, involving violations of state and federal securities regulations.

In early 2010, Ryan came over to the “good guys” side, turning his attention to the needs of homeowners. With his years of experience in securities litigation, and having been involved in cases with some of the largest banks in the country, he now felt compelled to help homeowners, so he and Zach co-founded Corvus… a firm that would specialize in foreclosure defense and related matters. Ryan has been on the forefront of the issues surrounding “securitization”, arguing that in the recent real estate bubble, lenders may have jeopardized their rights to collect from borrowers by violating various state and federal regulations. Under his direction, Corvus litigation has resulted in homeowners seeing their mortgages balances reduced by hundreds of thousands of dollars, the outcome of numerous beneficial settlements negotiated with lenders and servicers.

To-date, Corvus has filed over 100 lawsuits in Federal Court pon behalf of their homeowner clients. They are both passionate and aggressive, and not the least bit hesitant to take the fight into the courts to find solutions for their clients that would not have otherwise been available. Corvus is not a firm that you hire when you want to apply for a loan modification, it’s a firm you bring in when you want to win one in court. When you call, ask for Zach or Ryan… tell either I said hello… I see them fairly often in Las Vegas, and we talk several times a week. In fact, the three of us recently attended Max Gardner’s Operation Strike Back attorney training symposium at the Paris Hotel & Casino.

Corvus, by the way, has access to run a specialized and powerful report produced by the REST platform, specially designed for litigation, called the Property Solutions Report that provides homeowners with chain of title and MERS assignment information, voluntary and involuntary liens and encumbrances, the most comprehensive AVM property valuation analysis available anywhere, and the same decision analytics, used by investors and servicers, found in the REST Report.
