CDA Law Center (CDALC) is a law firm led by managing Partner, Robert Scurrah whose practice of law has spanned 30 years.  The firm has a support staff of very experienced case managers, paralegals, analysts, former underwriters, and attorneys that work as a team to gather your information and conduct a financial analysis in order to determine if you may qualify for a loan modification.

Robert Scurrah, along with thee firm’s other experienced attorneys attentively work on every loan modification case the firm accepts. I’ve spent a couple of days at this firm and I really like the support staff, which is not something you hear me say very often, if at all.  The firm has a very open feel and it’s clear that the paralegals and other non-attorneys are treated very well and really love their jobs, which I think is a very good indication of what those at the top of the organization are like as people.

In terms of expertise, I think CDA would have to be at or near the top of the field.  Robert Scurrah was practicing law when I was graduating from high school, which was like 100 years ago… kidding, I’m kidding.  I say that because I do like having an attorney that can remember Richard Nixon as the President, not that the younger guys aren’t just as good… or maybe even better.  I’m allowed my own biases, so there.

I also have gotten to know the office manager there, Bill Baskin, and I think he’s as bright as they come as far as knowing his way around a mortgage.  That’s important in this field because he has to manage a staff that’s very bright as well, and he couldn’t command their respect the way he does if he didn’t know his stuff inside and out.  Oh yeah, and his wife works with him too, so if you ever need it… I’m pretty sure she can take him.  I’m just kidding again, sort of.

Anyway, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire CDA Law for whatever I needed related to my own mortgage and I feel no hesitation in recommending them.  They’re in Aliso Viejo, however, so unless you have one of those Fast Pass things in your window, bring a $5 for the toll on the 73 Freeway each way.  Actually, I’m sure you can get there without taking the toll road too.
